1969 Z10 Camaro .Car was sold new in Amarillo, TX and spent its entire life in this area-most of it in Borger, TX 60 miles North of Amarillo. entire car has been gutted and stripped. Repainted and reupholstered and everything between. Engine (NOM) was completely rebuilt with 186 heads and flat-top pistons. Date correct 010 block and heads as well as intake and exhaust manifolds were used. Has an Edlebrock Q-jet with electric choke, but also have an original carburetor that comes with car. 350 transmission was also rebuilt at the same time. All new A/C components, etc, etc. You guys and gals know that once you start on something like this, there is no end to it. The only body part replaced was the RF fender because it was too bent to properly repair it. All glass is original except the new windshield. All new weather stripping along with complete new interior. Paint was applied 12 years ago and still looks great. Has had about 750 miles put on it in the last 12 years to car shows and then home again. 350 300 hp 350 auto, A/C, PS, Tilt Wheel, Tach and gauges console. Radio delete with system in the glove box. A/C is very cold and car runs fantastic. It does not drive really well on the bias tires. Trim rings are not in great shape, but are the original 4-clip design. All new brakes and exhaust with transverse muffler. 12 bolt 3.31 open rear end. Bias spare and jack in trunk. All in all this is a very, very rare 1969 Camaro that not many people have or have even seen one in person. Super investment vehicle. Low production run makes this car a vehicle for a serious collector who does not own one.
There are varying accounts of why the Z10 was produced and how many were actually made. The original figure was 186 total in 2002. Now there are a few "experts" that say 500 or so. Can not prove it, they don't seem to have one on them, just trying to act knowledgeable. Get on your computer and Google Z10 Camaro production and come to your own conclusions. I am sure that you will be able to make a decision on your own about the collectability of this car!
Why spend money on a vehicle with high production numbers when you can have a true collectable with auto, A/C and be able to drive itCar is very, very nice, but not, not, not perfect by any means, but very show-worthy. I would call it an 8.5 out of 10. It has been done a while so it sure has held up well!
Car still has original radiator and master cylinder as well, cowl induction works as advertised.
All Z10 coupes were painted code 50 Dover White with Hugger Orange stripes with matching white rocker panels. They also all came standard with the D80 spoilers, ZJ7 rally wheels, ZL2 cowl induction hood, Z22 Rally Sport package, and Z27 Super Sport package. They were all built in Norwood, and all of them received the Z10 stamp on their cowl tags, making them some of the easiest Camaros to document. The Z10 Registry shows about 70 cars, so there's no question that they're uncommon, and clones are fairly common. This one is unquestionably a real Z10.
